Whop is home to thousands of creators selling digital products and services. With Whop, you create your own whop hub, which is the center of your business and all of it's products.
The store page is where you’ll be able to sell access to your whop. This is an important aspect of your business that is very easy to set up and customize. The more attractive and informative your store page is, the more conversions you’ll get from potential customers.
In this guide, we’re going to take a look at what the store is, how you can customize yours, and how you can apply to the marketplace to boost your sales.
What is a Whop Store?
You can think of the store as a public space where you can sell access to your whop. Having a store page will allow you to apply for the Whop marketplace, which will let millions of people see your store page, increasing your turnover. Your store page will basically be a listing of the products you sell in your whop.
While you can set up products in your whop and start selling them right away, editing your store page will have a big impact on how your potential customers will interact with your product. No one likes a mostly empty page with a product name and a dollar sign next to it - you can make your store page appealing so that people will want to buy your products.
Creating Your Whop Store Page
Alright, by now you know that the store page is really important - but how do you create yours? Well, you don’t really create a store page since it’s integrated into your whop. If you have a whop, it has a store page. What you want to do is to edit your whop’s store page so that it aligns with your brand.
But as we mentioned, you first need to have a product in order to sell it on your store page. If you don’t already have one, check out our guide on creating a Whop product.
To start editing your store page, let’s click on the Edit store button under the Admin Area section of your whop.
Now, when you first click on the Edit store button, you’ll be directed to a new page. You can see a preview of your store page on the right side and its sections on the left.
You can click on the parts of the preview on the right to edit them, but you can also use the sections on the left to keep the consistency.
We suggest you use the sections on the left side so you don’t miss any sections. There are two categories on the left side: Page details and Creator details.
Let’s examine every single section of your page that you can edit:
- Page name: In this section, you can change the name of your store page and your whop. It should be a simple, memorable name.
- URL slug: In this section, you can change the part of your store page’s URL that comes after whop.com/ - the most common way to determine a URL slug is to just write down your page name with hyphens instead of spaces.
- Tagline: In this section, you can change the description displayed under the page name. You should describe your whop, but try to keep it just a few words long.
- Categories: In this section, you should select a category and a sub-category for your store page.
- Tags: You should add tags (up to 10) that will help other users find your store page with keywords.
- Media gallery: In this section, you can add up to 8 images or videos of your whop. You should try to capture the viewer’s attention with these images/videos. The first media you upload will be your store page’s highlight and will be used to preview your page. The media should be 2000x1000 with a maximum file size of 100 MB.
- Preview image: Here you can select an image that will be displayed when your store’s URL is shared on social media or instant messaging apps.
- Features: In this section, you can add up to 8 different features of your whop. You should try to list what your whop offers to potential members. For example, if you run a graphic design course, you can list all the course modules, what users will learn, and more. We recommend you add at least six features.
- FAQs: Here you can add up to five different FAQs for your potential members to see on the store page. Answering the most frequently asked (and important) questions your potential customers might ask is a great way to inform them and increase the chances of conversion.
- Show stock: In this section, you can choose if you want to display the stock count of your products. When you first create a product in your whop, it has unlimited stock. You can change this by going into the Products section of your whop, clicking on the product, and adjusting the “Unlimited stock” option at the bottom of the Advanced Settings section.
- Show reviews: In this section, you can select if you want the customer reviews to be displayed on your store page or not.
- Name: You can change the creator name that’s going to be displayed under the “About the Creator” section of your store page.
- Logo: You can change the logo under the “About the Creator” section. We recommend you use a 400x400 px image without rounded corners or transparent backgrounds.
- About: In this section, you can change the description that’s going to be displayed under the “About the Creator” section. In this section, you should focus on talking about the creator (yourself or your team) instead of the product. Try to explain to people who you are, what you do, and let them know why you’re there.
- Social links: In this section, you can add social media links of your brand, such as X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and more.
Now, if you have a product on your whop, you might see an additional section named Products between the Page details and Creator details sections. Under the Products section, you will see all of your products listed. You can click on each product to change its name and description here.
Applying to the Whop Marketplace
Now, when you edit every single aspect of your store page and finish it, it still won’t be visible in the Whop Marketplace. Users will only be able to see it by using a link. If you want people to be able to search and see your store page on the marketplace, which will vastly boost your sales since there are more than four million active customers using the marketplace, you have to apply for it.
As you edit your store page, you might notice an indigo-colored button telling you to apply to the marketplace. When you click on it, you’ll see that you first have to meet certain requirements. You have to add a:
- Company description
- Gallery image(s)
- Paid products
- Categories
- Social link(s)
- Turn on customer reviews
- Page logo
- Product description(s)
- Tagline
- Feature(s)
You also must have at least one customer review to be able to apply to the marketplace. We recommend you add FAQs as well. After you meet all the criteria, you can apply for the marketplace.
