People are expected to spend $20 billion through TikTok this year, on everything from supporting their favorite creators to buying new products.
Users love the platform for its magical algorithm that delivers just the right content at just the right time, with 45% of people relying on it to find new brands and products to buy.
Honestly, it's hard to look at these numbers and not want to get in on the action.
So how do you do it?
Making a portion of that $20 billion yours through TikTok isn't exactly simple, but it is doable—and there are so many different ways to monetize your account. In fact, getting started only takes a few minutes if you use Whop.
In this article, I'll take you through a list of a whopping 25 different ways you can make money on TikTok, covering both official monetization methods and ways to bring in even more cash outside the app.
Can you really make money on TikTok?
Yes, people can and do make money on TikTok.
The highest-earning creator on the platform, Charli D'Amelio, makes an estimated $105,000 per post, and while that is the best of the best, many other creators earn thousands per post as well. Even smaller accounts can earn a pretty nice sum, especially if they get a little bit crafty about it.
The platform offers quite a few ways for people to make money, but to be frank, the real money-making happens outside of the app. Customers are what makes a business successful, and social media creators have a unique advantage over other potential business owners: They already have a community of potential customers.
Do you see where this is heading? My point is that the ultimate way to make money through TikTok is to earn followers, launch a business, and turn those followers into paying customers.
One of the best things about this tactic, aside from how much money it can make, is how much freedom it gives you. From selling extra content to creating unique digital products or even offering specialized services, you can level up your TikTok and turn it into a full-fledged business.
It can be an extension of your TikTok content, or you can branch out into something new. You can make the decision yourself, or you can ask your followers what they want—there are so many options.
Let's circle back to Charli D'Amelio. It's true that she makes big bucks on TikTok, but she also sells merch on her own website; appears on TV and in advertising campaigns; has branched out into other platforms like YouTube, and she's even launched her own perfume.
She's a creator economy personified, and her content is the foundation of her brand.
Diversifying in this way is the trick to not only making more money through TikTok but also creating stable and lasting streams of income that you can rely on for years to come.
9 ways that TikTok rewards creators
First things first, let's look at how you can start making money directly through the TikTok app. There are a few common rules that appear throughout TikTok's monetization methods that you need to be aware of.
To monetize your content on TikTok, you need to follow its Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Branded Content Policy.
Remember that if you're promoting a brand, product, or service, whether it's yours or someone else's, you need to turn on the content disclosure setting to make sure your video doesn't get removed.
I recommend reading the various policies directly before you get started, but if you're familiar with how social media platforms do things in general, it's just more of the same here.
One more thing to be aware of is that most of the below will need you to have a certain amount of followers. That means if you're just starting out, you'll need to focus on growing your audience first.
1. Creator Rewards Program
The Creator Rewards Program lets you earn rewards for making long-form TikTok videos. The first important thing to point out here is that for TikTok, "long-form" actually only means one minute or longer—so we're not talking about hour-long videos or anything like that.
Members of the program have access to a special dashboard where they can see which of their videos are eligible for rewards, along with performance analytics and an estimate of how much they've earned.
Here are the criteria you need to meet to join the program. Remember that they're subject to change:
- You must live in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, or Brazil
- You need to follow the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
- You need to have a Personal Account (not a Business Account)
- You need to be 18 years old or older
- Your account has to have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views within the last 30 days
- You can only post original content that's at least one minute long
How much you make is determined by TikTok's RPM (Revenue Per Mille) metric. A lot of things can affect that metric, ranging from stuff like video engagement rate and originality to search value and play duration.
Long story short: RPM refers to how much you make per 1,000 views—and the answer is often between $0.4 and $1, but your mileage may vary.
2. Video Gifts
Video Gifts is a monetization feature on TikTok that lets your viewers pay you money. Your fans spend real money to buy Coins and they use those Coins to send you virtual gifts on your videos.
If you want to turn on Video Gifts, you need to meet these requirements:
- You need to be at least 18 years old
- You need at least 10,000 followers and an account that's at least 30 days old
- You must have posted a public video within the last 30 days
- You have to follow the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
- You must have a Personal Account
People can send you gifts on normal videos or LIVE videos, but some videos will be ineligible if they include:
- Duets and Stitches
- Ads
- Sponsored content
- Promotions
Gifts have varying value, and viewers buy them for double the amount the creator receives from them—in other words, TikTok gets half the money when someone buys a gift, and the creator gets the other half. All in all, you need to receive quite a lot of gifts to make a good amount of money, but they're still one of the best ways to make some cash through TikTok Live.
3. Subscriptions
TikTok launched its Subscriptions feature in 2022, but it has recently expanded it significantly. The new version applies to both LIVE and non-LIVE creators, so more people can sell exclusive perks and a members-only community to their followers.
You can offer three different tiers within your subscription and customize what you want to offer in each one. Here are some of the options:
- Private communication channels. This includes chats, SubSpace, messages, and comments
- Exclusive content like special videos, notes, and LIVEs that only your subscribers can see
- Unique stickers and badges for subscribers so you and other viewers can see who is part of your community
- Perks such as suggesting LIVE topics, performance requests, shoutouts, or special Discord roles
- Custom perks that you design yourself
If you want to sell monthly subscriptions to your followers, you need to be at least 18 years old, follow the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views within the past month.
Subscriptions are designed to be fairly inexpensive, so TikTok users can subscribe to a few of their favorite creators rather than just one. Many creators charge something like $1.99 a month for a number of perks and special stickers or badges.
The money can still add up if you get enough subscribers, and the stability of monthly payments makes this one of the better ways to monetize your account directly through TikTok.
4. TikTok Series
Another way to earn money on TikTok is to make premium content that users have to buy to view. TikTok calls this Series—basically a premium series of videos for people to purchase.
A Series can include a maximum of 80 videos, with each video being up to 20 minutes long, and you decide how much to sell it for (anything between $0.99 and $189.99). This feature is great for creators who teach people new things like cooking recipes, workout routines, crafts, dances, life hacks, and various other how-to videos.
To join TikTok Series, you need to:
- Be at least 18 (or older, of course)
- Have an account that's at least 30 days old
- Have at least 10,000 followers
- Have posted more than three public videos in the last month
- Have at least 1,000 authentic video views in the last month
If you meet all of these requirements except the 10,000 follower count, there is another way to apply. If you have sold premium content on another platform before, you can apply to Series via the Creator Center and send a link to your other premium content.
TikTok Series videos have the potential to make you a pretty sum, and this counts as passive income since they continue to sell long after you've finished putting work into them.
5. Creator Marketplace
The TikTok Creator Marketplace is where brands and creators can team up to create paid brand campaigns. Brands create a brief for the kind of content they need, search for creators, and make a deal.
As a creator, you'll receive invitations from brands that you can decline or accept, and then you'll create videos according to the guidelines and show them to the brand for approval. Once it's approved and posted, you'll get paid the amount you agreed on. Pretty cool, but remember that having too many of those videos can be a turn-off for your audience!
If you want to join the marketplace, here's what TikTok asks of you:
- You need to be at least 18 years old
- You need to have at least 10,000 followers
- At the time of application, you must have posted at least three videos in the past month and received at least 100,000 likes
After you apply, you should hear back within 3 days, and if you don't get accepted, no worries—try again in 30 days.
The amount of make depends on the brands you partner with, but the amount is always agreed upfront so you'll always know how much you're going to get. Smaller brands post briefs for as little as $50, while bigger brands sometimes offer juicier deals reaching upward of $1,000.
6. Effect House Creator Rewards
TikTok is well known for its crazy filters and effects (and catchy songs used in the weirdest ways). Thousands of independent creators develop and publish these effects. If your effects get used by enough other people, you can apply to the Effect House Creator Rewards program to monetize your creations.
To apply, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Based in an eligible area (the list is quite long, so check it out directly on TikTok, but chances are you're in the clear)
- Be a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Badge creator with at least five effects published and three effects that have appeared in at least 1,000 videos
- Complete the tax and payment setup
Overall, the requirements are much less steep than the usual "at least 10,000 followers" that I've been repeating like a chorus throughout every item on this list.
As well as earning money for the effects you make independently, you can also access paid opportunities—in other words, get paid to make new effects.
While the requirements to apply aren't too bad, your effects need to be used in 100,000 videos before you start earning rewards. There is a maximum payout of $14,000 for a single effect, and the maximum a single creator can make each month is $50,000. But hey, hitting that cap should be the least of all problems if you're already that successful.
7. TikTok Shop
When TikTok realized how many people were discovering new brands and products through its platform, it decided to bring the shopping experience right to the app. TikTok Shop lets businesses, creators, and affiliates sell products through TikTok using live shopping, shoppable videos, product showcases, and the shop tab.
As a creator, there are two ways you can make money with TikTok Shop. First, you can launch your own shop and sell a range of merchandise, physical products, or digital products. To do this, you'll need to make a business account and upload the required documents (for individual sellers, you just need to upload a passport or driver's license).
If you don't want to sell your own products, you can become an affiliate and promote branded products to earn a commission. You can promote whatever products you love and if people use links from your content to buy a product, you'll receive a reward.
To apply for TikTok Shop as a creator, you'll need:
- To be at least 18 years old
- To have at least 1,000 followers
- To have posted at least one video in the past 28 days
- To have at least 50 video views in the past 28 days
Launching your own store has the potential to be extremely profitable, but even joining the affiliate program on TikTok can be worth it—especially for smaller channels. Since you only need 1,000 followers to apply, it's one of the first kinds of monetization you gain access to as a newish influencer.
This means it's a good option if you're currently working toward the 10,000-follower minimum you need for most other monetization methods.
8. TikTok LIVE
TikTok LIVE videos are monetized in much the same way as normal videos, meaning through Gifts and Subscriptions, but the difference is how much more you can make in a short amount of time. Because you're streaming live and interacting directly with followers, you can earn a lot more support in one session compared to a normal video.
There are also activities you can take part in to inspire viewers to give more gifts:
- LIVE Goal: You can set a gift goal for your stream and encourage your fans to help you meet it. You can also set a Sub Goal to try and get more subscribers.
- Match/Team Match: You can set up a five-minute competition against another creator to see who can rally more support from viewers within the time limit.
- Rankings: You can also rally viewers to help you break into the Daily Rankings which spotlight the top 100 creators that week. There's also the monthly Rising Star ranking.
To get started on TikTok LIVE, you need to be over the age of 18, have at least 1,000 followers, and you also need to follow the Community Guidelines (duh).
Don't be fooled, however—this is just the requirement to start making LIVE streams. To start monetizing your LIVE streams with Gifts and Subscriptions, you need to hit 10,000 followers. Yeah, we've heard that before.
9. Tips
TikTok allows users to send Tips to creators using Stripe integration. It's not a feature TikTok makes money from itself so all of a tip after processing fees goes to you, which is pretty sweet.
The downside? Tips are only accessible to fairly successful accounts—you have to have at least 100,000 followers to be eligible, and if you ever go under 100,000, you'll lose access.
15 best ways to make money on TikTok
The problem with in-app monetization with TikTok is that you're locked out of almost every method until you get 10,000 followers. It makes sense in some ways since views and clicks only generate a fraction of a dollar at a time, so you need big numbers to start making decent money from it. But, in many other ways, let's face it… It kind of sucks.
Luckily, there are better ways to make money whether you already have 10,000 followers or not. Let's have a look at some of the best money-making methods out there.
1. Sell your own merch
Starting out simple, one natural way you can expand your TikTok business is by selling your own merchandise. This works for literally any influencer, whether it's your personality that's the product, or something you make or do.
Use your brand logo—or make one if you don't already have one—and upload it to a PoD (Print on Demand) service like Redbubble to get started. PoD sites are really easy to work with since all you have to do is upload designs and choose your products.
The actual fulfillment side of things is all taken care of by the PoD company. That means you don't have to deal with stock, packaging, or shipping, which leads to less risk and upfront costs.
Depending on the kind of content you make, merchandise ideas could come very easily or not so easily. The good thing about being an influencer is you can just ask your audience what they want, and they will definitely answer.
Even if merchandise isn't going to be your focus, if you have enough spare time to set it up, there's no reason not to. It's a great source of passive income. The profits aren't quite as high as selling your own products since you're paying for each unit individually rather than buying in bulk. However, the industry itself is projected to reach $ 39 billion by 2031, so there's plenty of money to be made.
2. Start affiliate marketing
TikTok has its own affiliate program but you don't have to jump through hoops to sign up to it. You can just make your own deals with brands outside of the app. The only thing you need to start affiliate marketing is a brand that's willing to give you your own affiliate link.
As long as you don't have a history of posting problematic content, joining brand affiliate programs is pretty easy since there's usually no downside to brands handing out large numbers of links.
Once you have the link, it's up to you to create engaging and authentic affiliate marketing content. The key here is to partner with products you actually like and just think about what information you'd want to see about the product. There are always little details or use cases the brand doesn't cover itself, so you can tell people what they want to know.
And, of course, make it entertaining! No one likes watching ads unless there's some fun and value there too.
Numbers are important here, too. One affiliate link isn't enough: You should get your hands on as many as you can handle. As your portfolio of successful affiliate content grows, you'll get access to bigger and better brands.
Statistics say that beginners can expect to earn around $1,000 per month which isn't too bad, but how much the number grows from there depends on how much work you put in and how good you get. The best affiliate marketers can make over $100,000 a year, so it's a high ceiling.
3. Set up an exclusive community for your followers
I covered TikTok's Subscription feature already, which lets you set up an exclusive community for your followers—but honestly, there are better platforms out there for this kind of thing. TikTok's version has the advantage of being built into the app but you have to have 10,000 followers to set one up and the perks you can offer are limited.
Whop, on the other hand, is the perfect place to set up a paid community for your TikTok followers. You can offer as many types of tiers as you want and sell a range of digital products and services.
For instance, you could have a $1-a-month beginners tier that lets people join your Discord server, and slowly ramp up the tier prices until you have a $20 mega-fans tier that comes with instant access to all exclusive content.
That's not where it ends, though. Some of the top creators on Whop charge up to $2,000 and above for access to their community in the form of a high-ticket product.
You can sell one-on-one video calls with fans, downloadable content, online courses, and so much more. There are also special apps for hosting giveaways, taking suggestions, and even a help desk for anyone with questions.
You can shape your whop into whatever your unique community needs and offer an unbeatable level of personalization and interactivity to your followers.
Let's not forget one of the most important things: Running your own paid community can make big bucks. A stable monthly income from the subscriptions is invaluable, and the extra one-off-purchase products you offer can supplement it. Creators on Whop can earn as much as $2,000 to $250,000 a month by selling digital products, and this is one of the most lucrative options.
4. Offer one-on-one chats
If your TikTok content is centered around you as a person, selling one-on-one chats to your followers can be a goldmine.
Some might just want you to say happy birthday to them or a friend, and others might want some advice on whatever you specialize in. If you're creative, your fans probably want to show you their work and get your thoughts on it.
With Whop, you can set up a hub and add the Video Call app to sell one-on-one calls to your followers, along with a host of other digital products and services, like hosting a Q&A or running a fun event.
Pricing your calls can be a bit difficult. The best tactic is to think about what you'd be doing with your time if you weren't taking a call and how much money that time might be worth. You can also limit the available slots to just one or two a week so you're not spending too much time on it. Limited availability increases value too, so it's a win-win!
5. Create and sell extra content
Another way to naturally expand your TikTok is to make extra content and put it behind a paywall. This is a similar concept to TikTok's Series feature, but the app version is known to be a bit buggy and the company can also just take it down any time. Besides, it doesn't do anything for you in terms of building your brand outside of the platform.
Instead of trusting TikTok with your extra content, you can benefit from more freedom and flexibility with a platform like Whop. Your premium content could include videos (short-form or long-from), online courses, downloadable files, a VIP community, online events, extra vlogs, behind-the-scenes content, and much more.
You can bundle those things together, sell them separately, make them part of a subscription, or all of the above. It's really up to you.
Let's use a cooking influencer as an example. With a Whop, the cooking influencer can:
- Sell collections of recipe videos
- Sell a subscription that lets buyers access a VIP community and receive a new recipe video each week
- Sell written recipes as downloadable files
- Offer cook-along events over video call
- Sell exclusive one-on-one cooking classes
With this much variety, you can offer something for everyone and create an active community with your followers.
6. Start a blog
As a TikTok creator, videos are your thing—but they might not be the only type of content you're good at creating. If you have a knack or a passion for writing, you could also start a blog to supplement your TikTok channel.
It's true that the average TikTok user prefers to get their information through video and audio rather than reading, but once you have an engaged audience, they often want additional ways they can engage with you. If reading a blog is what it takes, you can bet that some of them will go ahead and read that blog.
You can also meet them halfway by creating an audio blog—which is basically just attaching an audio file to each post of you reading the written content. It makes things a bit more accessible for your audience and doesn't really take that much extra time or effort.
There are multiple ways you can monetize a blog, including:
- Advertising
- Affiliate marketing
- Subscriptions and memberships
- Sponsored content
- Selling physical products
- Selling digital products (with Whop!)
Your level of success and the monetization methods you choose will determine how much your blog brings in, but here are a few average annual incomes by niche:
- 💰Travel blogger: $63,173
- 💰Food blogger: $41,058
- 💰Beauty blogger: $43,800
- 💰Fashion blogger: $37,534
7. Branch out to other social media platforms
Along with choosing a few direct streams of income like premium content or a subscribers-only community, you can also branch out to other social media platforms. You can try out their built-in monetization options and expand your audience so you funnel them to your paid content.
The more platforms you're on, the more people will see you; so if you have the bandwidth, you should join as many as you can. You can post the same content on Instagram as you do on TikTok, and for YouTube, you can post your usual content as Shorts and perhaps make a few bespoke long-form videos.
You can also make an account on Twitter (now X), where the easiest way to monetize your account is to sell subscriptions and post subscriber-only tweets.
The only thing you need to remember is whichever platform you go to, make sure to promote your other paid content so your new audience members know about it. Another good idea is to have some exclusives for each platform, incentivizing people to (figuratively) follow you everywhere.
8. Create online courses
If your content is all about all kinds of useful knowledge, you can take this to the next level by creating an online course. Whether it's cooking, trading stocks, crypto, dropshipping, makeup, drawing, ecommerce, journaling, or anything else, you can share your process in the form of a course.
There are a bunch of different platforms where you can sell online courses, such as Udemy, Skillshare, and Coursera, but the best online course platform for an influencer is Whop.
With Whop, you can create, host, and sell your online course in minutes. You can make as many courses as you want and include a variety of elements like text, files, videos, and quizzes.
Plus, if you're planning to offer other services like a paid community for your students, you can just expand the functionality of your whop by adding more apps. That way, your followers can access as much content as possible all in one place, rather than having to deal with loads of different platforms.
Online courses are a great source of passive income if they're evergreen, and if not, they only require occasional updates to keep them fresh. With the right prices and a big enough audience, it's possible to make over $3,500 a week selling online courses.
9. Become a coach
One-on-one coaching is a natural complement to online courses. You generate passive income from the reasonably priced courses and then offer private coaching sessions at a premium.
This is different from offering one-on-one video calls as an influencer. People won't come to you just for shoutouts, so if you sell coaching sessions, you need to have structured and valuable advice you can give to your clients.
You'll find all sorts of coaches, from financial advisors to fitness influencers to career coaches. Basically, if you're good at it, you can sell it. This type of gig is also perfect if you want to share how you grew your own TikTok channel.
If you want to branch out into a new area, there are all sorts of lucrative coaching niches out there covering everything from real estate to productivity coaching.
Because you're selling a personalized service, it can cost as much as $100 per session and you can easily make $3,000 or more in a week if you schedule plenty of calls.
10. Offer quick shout-outs
Have you heard of the app Cameo where you can hire celebrities to make a little 30-second birthday video for a loved one? As an influencer, you can offer something similar to your followers.
Quick shout-outs don't have to be expensive or high effort, you just record a short video or mention people by name and convey a message to them during a live stream. It's a quick and easy way for you to make money and for your audience to interact with you.
You can list your quick shout-out service on a platform like Whop, and then you don't have to go through TikTok itself. Remember half the value of Gifts on TikTok goes to the company.
11. Write ebooks
Believe it or not, anyone can write an ebook and make money doing so.
This might sound like a pretty big project, but the modern ebook is very different from a traditionally published book. You can write them in whatever style you want and include lots of images and infographics—plus, they don't actually have to be that long.
For example, if you make an online course, you can also adjust the content a bit and make an ebook version as well. Selling ebooks through TikTok is quite popular, and you'll notice a lot of influencers with links to ebooks in their profile.
There are a lot of things to think about when writing and selling an ebook. For now, here's a super-condensed version of what the process looks like:
- Pick your niche
- Structure your ebook
- Write, write, write!
- Have your book edited
- Design your ebook's cover
- Price your ebook
- Choose the best ebook sales platform
The ebook industry is booming right now, with 20% of established ebook authors earning over $100,000 in 2023.
12. Sell templates and worksheets
Digital templates and worksheets are a good digital product for lifestyle influencers and creatives. You can sell Figma templates, website templates, Canva templates, Notion templates, and much more.
Templates usually cover themes like:
- Life planners
- Freelance planners
- ADHD planners
- Writing planners
- Study and exam trackers
- All-in-one planners
- Student planners
- Meal planners
- Diet planners
- Reading trackers
- Weight loss trackers
- Workout planners
- Content planners
A good planner has both functionality and a nice design. For a lot of people, the better it looks, the more fun it is to use. You can also work your own personal brand into your planners, sharing your own process for success and turning it into a customizable template for people to fit their own needs.
Templates like this are sold as PDFs so people can print them out and fill them out by hand or download them to fill out on a tablet or PC. There are multiple platforms that let you sell PDFs, such as Etsy, but Whop is the place to go if you're planning to sell lots of different digital products.
You can sell PDFs by adding the Files app to your whop and sell your templates alongside premium video content, a VIP community, and other digital services. If you offer enough variety and plenty of nice designs, it's possible to make as much as $1,000 a week selling digital templates.
Alternatively, if you're not feeling super creative, you can buy private label rights (PLR) products, rebrand them, and sell them as your own.
13. Grow new TikTok accounts and sell them
If you think you've really gotten the hang of TikTok, including how to game its algorithms and drive engagement, then you can turn that knowledge into a money maker too.
Growing TikTok accounts and selling them to people and companies alike is a legitimate gig. That's simply because an account with lots of eyes has a lot of potential value.
For TikTok, you can grow accounts to the 10,000-follower minimum needed to engage in most of its monetization programs and then sell them to people who want to start monetizing right away. You can also grow a few accounts to even bigger numbers and sell them for a really good price.
Keep in mind that it isn't just about the follower count, however. To have a stable account, you also need to have a high amount of overall likes and a good number of average views per post. For example, an account with 400,000 followers, 40 million likes, and 200,000 views per post could sell for between $5,000 and $10,000.

14. Host live events and webinars
TikTok lets viewers send you Gifts while you're streaming, but on other platforms, you can schedule paid live events. With Whop, for example, you can use the Events app to set up an event (usually hosted on a video call platform) and set a price for attending.
It's a great way to host live content that can really focus on the content side of things. Because everyone already paid, you don't have to waste time trying to rally your audience for gifts and donations.
Because these events are made for lots of people to attend, the price is usually a lot less premium than a one-on-one call. If your event gets a lot of attention, however, you can make way more money than you would with a one-on-one call.
15. Work as a consultant
The most traditionally business-y thing on this list is doing consulting work. This is far more "official" than offering one-on-one calls or coaching sessions, and you'll likely need to have a TikTok channel that's centered around sharing useful knowledge.
Consulting is all about listening to where your clients are now and where they want to be, and then writing up a plan that can get them there.
Common consulting niches include:
- Finance
- Tax
- HR
- Career
- Legal
- SEO
- Weight and fitness
- Software engineering
- Ecommerce
- Digital marketing
- IT
If all of these look completely irrelevant to you, don't worry. There is one more popular consulting niche that you can definitely participate in—social media consulting!
This is basically helping people find their niche, come up with a content plan, and market themselves effectively.
Just like one-on-one calls and coaching, Whop has you covered when it comes to consulting services. Just use the Chat app, Video Call app, and Files app to schedule calls, host sessions, and share files. If you can prove your tactics work, you can charge upwards of $150 per consultation.
How to turn your TikTok account into a money-making machine
Once you've made it this far, I can bet that you've got a couple of ideas on how to monetize your TikTok account. No matter your preferred option, there's a quick five-step routine that will help you get there.
- 💭Think outside the box
Don't think too much about the big TikTok influencers and their "$100,000 per post" statistics. If you want to really make money, you need to think beyond TikTok views and in-app monetization. The reality is that many TikTok creators don't go viral the way the top accounts did, but that doesn't mean they don't make lots of money. They do—they just make most of it off the platform. - ❓Figure out your niche
While being a social media personality can definitely bring in profit, it's much easier to build a dedicated audience when you have a niche. It also makes ideas for extra content, merchandising, and side businesses come a lot more naturally. Even influencers who seemingly don't have much of a niche cater to a certain demographic; there's no one-size-fits-all influencer. - 🙋Ask your audience
Your audience is your biggest advantage as an influencer, so never be afraid to ask for their help! If you're not sure what will work best, set up a quick survey and ask your audience directly. - 📢Keep making useful content
People found you and followed you because of your TikTok content and even if they love your newer ventures, you should make sure to keep giving them more of the content they love. - 🤝Stay real
Don't get too caught up in the numbers and engagement statistics. Social media is ultimately about fun, and sometimes you should make posts just because you have followers who will enjoy them—even if they won't perform well. People don't follow influencers that they don't mesh with, so no matter the topic, you are always the very foundation of your successful TikTok channel.
Take it one step at a time. Don't be afraid to try out things and see if they work for you. There's no single path to success, so pave your own and enjoy the process.
