The Calendar Bookings app allows you to easily create customized booking slots so that people can join your whop, book a slot, and pay for your time. You can also do free slots as a trial for customer acquisitions - sounds amazing, right?

Well, in this article, we’re going to look at what a Whop app is, what the Calendar Bookings app is, its use cases, and how you can actually add it to your whop and use it.

What is a Whop app?

Apps on Whop can simply be explained as the features of a platform. When you first create your whop, it will be a blank canvas with no functionality - until you start adding apps to it. Whop offers a variety of apps to cater to your needs.

What is the Calendar Bookings app?

The Calendar Bookings app on whop, as its name suggests, allows creators to create a booking platform with their available times so the users can book calls with them. Creators can use the app to expand their business by offering 1:1 (or more) coaching, tutoring, and consulting - one of the best features of the app is that the bookings can be monetized, allowing you to charge users for your time.

Business ideas leveraging Calendar Bookings app

There are many uses of the Calendar Bookings app, whether you want to let people book training sessions or consult about freelance projects. Let’s take a look at three of our favorite use cases of the Calendar Bookings app:

1. Coaching: Personalized sessions

Coaches (like life, career, wellness, etc.) can offer 1:1 or group call sessions using the Calendar Bookings app, where clients can have personalized time with you. Coaches can set up multiple availabilities based on different rates and offer free consultations to attract new clients.

2. Tutoring: Subject-specific lessons

If you’re a tutor on any subject like math, languages, test prep, or even gaming, you can allow the members of your whop to book time slots so you can offer them paid lessons, exam preparation, or continuous learning plans.

3. Consulting: Strategy & advisory calls

Business, management, financial, marketing or any other type of consultant can offer hourly advisory calls via the Calendar Bookings app. In the session, you and the client can go into brainstorming sessions, deep-dive strategy consultations, and more.

Steps of adding the Calendar Bookings app to a whop

Using the Calendar Bookings app

As we mentioned, after you add the app to your whop, you’ll be directed to the Set up section of it. Like many whop apps, the Calendar Bookings app has three sections: Set up, Preview as user, and Access. Let’s examine each, starting with Set up.

The three sections of a Whop app: Set up, Preview as user, and Access

1. Set up

The Set up section is where you create availability slots for your members to book. When you first take a look at the Set up section of the app, you’ll see the “Calendar Bookings” heading, a plus icon next to it, which allows you to add availabilities, three tabs: Availability, Upcoming, and Past.

Below the tabs, you’re going to see a list of the availabilities you’ve created - since you just added the app to your whop, you’re going to see the Add Availability button instead of the list.

Let’s click either the Add Availability button or the plus icon next to the “Calendar Bookings” heading to get to the Create Availability section. This section has a bunch of settings you can adjust so let’s break them into two parts.

In the first part, you’re going to see four settings:

  • Title: This input field will determine the title of the availability. You should use this field to indicate what this specific availability is for. For example, if you’re going to offer 1:1 coaching about X and Y topics, you might want to create two separate availabilities and set their title accordingly.
  • Description: This field is the description of the availability. Here, you should talk about what the user should expect from the booking.
  • Duration: The duration options can be 15 mins, 30 mins, 60 mins, 90 mins, or a custom amount of time.
  • Price per booking: If you want to monetize the booking, meaning that users will have to pay in order to confirm the booking, you can select any of the stock options or set a custom amount using the input field to the right.

The last two settings for adding an availability slot are the meeting link and the host. The meeting link setting supports Google Meet, which requires you to connect your Google account, and a manual link for external meeting platforms - Zoom support is under development for now.

Clicking the dropdown menu under the Host setting will display a list of the staff members of your whop, which you can then select who the availability belongs to.

After you’re done with all the settings, click the Continue button to proceed to the next step.

On the second and last step of adding an availability, you’re going to select which days and which hours can be booked. You can select days by clicking on the checkboxes next to them or the plus button to the right.

Once you do, a timeframe selection will appear where you can select which hours you’re available between. You can add more than one timeframe by using the plus icons on the right. Once you’re done, click the Continue button to finish the process.

You just created an availability slot - great job. Now, you can turn it on or off using the toggle button, edit it using its Edit button, and delete it using the red trash can icon.

2. Preview as user

The Preview as user section of the Calendar Bookings app, just like any other whop app, is going to let you see the app from the perspective of a regular user. Just like a regular user, you can test the app by clicking on the Book button in one of your availabilities.

3. Access

The Access section of the Calendar Bookings app is where you determine how people can access the app. As you can see in the image below, there are two access options you can take. The first one is Free, which means everyone on the internet will be able to access the app and use it. This is ideal if you want everyone to join your whop and book a call.

The Paid/Private option, however, is more powerful. When you select the option, you’ll see a list of all the products on your whop listed with toggle buttons next to them. Clicking on the toggle buttons will link the app and the product, meaning that users won’t be able to access the app unless they obtain that specific product. Since products can be paid, free, private, and more, you’re going to have greater control over how people can access the app.

If you don’t have any products, however, you’ll see a Create product button instead of a list, just like the one that’s at the top right of the list. Clicking on it will walk you through a bunch of simple steps so you can create a product.
